Our merchants are creators, artists, entrepreneurs, ideas people, inspiring, independent… And all of the above in one. But our merchants are also individuals, full of personality who have their interests, idols and get their inspiration from lots of different places. Today we’re highlighting our favourite artist Coco Dávez, who we interviewed last time she visited us at the office, and we’re revealing five curiosities you might not have known about her:
You never leave the house without…
I’m going to be a bit unoriginal but… I never leave the house without my smartphone. I sell a lot through Instagram, so it’s handy to be able to access my account wherever I am.
A goal to achieve…?
The cover of The New Yorker.
What apps do you use on a daily basis?
In order of greatest use: VSCO, Instagram (of course), Bloombees and Facebook.
If you could be somebody, anybody else; who would you be?
This is a tricky one. I have a lot of idols who I look up to artistically and as creative inspirations, but some of them were jerks, and I don’t know if I would want to be like them personality-wise (laughs). For example, I love Picasso and his work, but he was known for being a jerk with women, so I don’t know if I’d want to be him 100%. But I guess if I really had to choose someone I would choose him, Pablo Picasso.
When you’re working, you listen to…
Classical music, hits from the ’80s, rock… Everything (except for techno)!
Vibrant colours, a little abstract, and bold personalities are at the core of this artist’s work. Coco Dávez is already selling on social media using Bloombees, with fans and followers buying her work from around the world. If you haven’t already, check out her artwork and start shopping here.
